2nd INROAd 2018 Call

In the framework of the INROAd initiative, the University of Pavia is promoting the second open call for proposals – year 2018 – to support talented researchers in the application to the calls of the European framework programme Horizon 2020 (H2020).

The call for proposals welcomes researchers of all nationalities and of all scientific areas covered by Horizon 2020. It is possible to submit project proposals to three different selections. Notably from 2018 INROAd will also support proposals to the Marie Skłodowska Curie Action programme, as described below, with Line 3.

Line 1 –  Fostering ERC talents @UNIPV

This line is reserved to Principal Investigators of projects that will be presented to the next European Research Council (ERC) Starting , Consolidator  and Advanced Grant 2019 calls of Horizon 2020 who have chosen the University of Pavia as the Host Institution.

University of Pavia will offer to the researchers selected under this line the financing of personalized tutoring and mentoring activities supervised by the ERC Grant Holders of the University of Pavia. These activities aim at strengthening the researchers’ project proposals before they are sent to the ERC in order to increase the chances the grant will be awarded.

Applications for Line 1 can cover all fields of research belonging to the scientific domains Social Sciences and Humanities (SH), Physical Sciences and Engineering (PE), Life Sciences (LS)  funded by the ERC (https://erc.europa.eu/).

The application consists of a short proposal accompanied by the proponent’s curriculum, that must be prepared following the form (dedicated both to the ERC candidates and the MSCA Candidates of Line 3) downloadable at the following link:

Line 2 – Boosting Competitiveness of H2020 Coordinators

This line is reserved to both non permanent and permanent researchers who intend to present a collaborative project as a project coordinator to a call for proposals of Horizon 2020. In the event beneficiaries of the financing under the present notice receive a Horizon 2020 financing, it shall be requested that the coordination of the project be attributed to the University of Pavia.

University of Pavia will offer to the researchers selected under this topic the financing of personalized support services for the development and revision of their projects. These activities aim specifically at strengthening the project proposals in advance of the submission to an H2020 call in order to increase the chances the grant will be awarded.

ANNEX II – TEMPLATE FOR H2020 COORDINATORS 2018

Line 3 –Attracting & Strengthening International Marie Skłodowska Curie Individual Fellowships Candidates @UNIPV

The line 3 is reserved to researchers who decide to present a mobility project to the call ” Marie Skłodowska Curie Individual Fellowships” of Horizon 2020 and indicate the University of Pavia as the institution hosting their future research (Beneficiary). In particular, the line will fund the networking and planning activities preliminary to the presentation of the project that will be carried out together with the scientific supervisor referent for the University.

Project proposals for Line 1 and 3 are due by 27th of April 2018.

Line 2

Applications for Line 2 must refer to Horizon 2020 calls that expire at least four months after the presentation of the application.
